Check out all the resources available to you on the Department of Economic Development website. Here you’ll find links for upcoming business leadership events, information for business owners, and a link to Innovation Central, a new program that encourages entrepreneurship and ideas.

Clicking on the Business Owners link will lead you to information on:

• How to start a business, including registering a new business
• How to get involved in international trade
• Services and programs offered by the City, including how to acquire bond funding; resources to help with recruitment, retention and expansion; and help with workforce training
• A list of other resources and ideas for business owners
• Advice on finding loans and investors
• A list of city-sponsored business incentives and how to apply for them

Purchasing Department

The City of Albuquerque purchases a lot of goods and services, and our Purchasing Department gives a preference to local businesses. The best way to become a vendor and begin selling your company’s services to the City is to start at the Purchasing Department website.

Here you’ll find information on:

• How to become a vendor
• A vendor handbook that explains the entire process for selling, billing and payment
• A current list of solicitations for goods or services, including Requests for Quotes (RFQs), Requests for Bids (RFBs), and Request for Proposals (RFPs)

The Solicitations page also has a link to an online vendor registration form. Once your business is registered you will receive email notices of all RFQs, RFBs and RFPs.
