Notice of Election

The Boulders, Lower Petroglyphs, Saltillo and Volterra Public Improvement Districts will conduct elections for the purpose of selecting five (5) new members for the Board of Directors of each District. Each Board of Directors consists of five members. All positions are voluntary. Each position will be a 6-year term. The election will be conducted by mail-in ballots.

Ballots will be mailed out to resident qualified electors of the Boulders, Lower Petroglyphs, Saltillo and Volterra Public Improvement Districts on February 13, 2019. Each elector may cast the applicable number of votes authorized in the Public Improvement District Act for up to five (5) candidates listed on the ballot. A property owner shall receive a ballot for each one-fifth of an acre owned, as identified in the property owner’s affidavit required by Section 5-11-7(D) NMSA 1978. The District shall calculate the actual number of acres or portions of acres owned by a property owner in accordance with Section 5-11-6(B) NMSA 1978. Ballots shall also be available to prospective electors at the Office of the City Clerk, 600 2nd NW, Albuquerque, New Mexico, 87102, (505) 924-3650, [email protected]. Ballots will be mailed to the requesting person upon written request to the Office of the City Clerk received not later than the close of business on the Friday on March 1, 2019.

Ballots delivered in person must be returned to the Office of the City Clerk no later than 7 p.m. on March 5, 2019. Mail-in ballots must also be received in the Office of the City Clerk by 7 p.m. on March 5, 2019.

ELECCIONES A LA JUNTA DEL DISTRITO DE MEJORAS PÚBLICAS DE THE BOULDERS, LOWER PETROGLYPHS, SALTILLO Y VOLTERRA

Los Distritos de Mejoras Públicas de The Boulders, Lower Petroglyphs, Saltillo y Volterra llevarán a cabo elecciones con el fin de seleccionar cinco (5) nuevos miembros para la Junta Directiva de cada Distrito. Cada Junta Directiva está compuesta por cinco miembros. Todas las plazas son voluntarias. Cada plaza será de 6 años. La elección se llevará a cabo mediante boletas enviadas por correo.

Role of PID Board Members

The Board of Directors is responsible for at least the following annual and periodic duties:

  1. Adoption of an open meetings resolution;
  2. Preliminary and final approval of an annual budget sufficient to pay debt service on outstanding District bonds or other District obligations and annual administrative costs;
  3. Exercise of remedies to collect delinquent District special levies from property owners within the District;
  4. Engagement of auditor and approval of audited financial statements;
  5. Approval of continuing disclosure reports prepared on behalf of the District; and
  6. Approval of periodic notice of information filing with the County Clerk.
