Ambassador Program
Your Friendly Guides to Smoother Rides
The ABQ RIDE Ambassador Program enhances the public transit experience by providing friendly, knowledgeable volunteers who assist riders with navigation, accessibility needs, and general inquiries. Ambassadors help first-time riders feel confident using the system, promote safety and courtesy, and serve as a welcoming presence on buses and at transit centers.
What We Do
- Help riders feel confident with navigation
- Provide directional information
- Promote Safety
- Welcoming presence on buses
- Improve efficiency
- Reduce Confusion
- Foster sense of community
Two Types of Ambassadors
There are two types of Ambassadors available. One can volunteer to be an Ambassador Navigator or Care Navigator.
- Ambassador Navigators circulate bus stops, transit centers, and buses to help with scheduling information and logistics.
- Care Navigators are interested in psychology and social services and provide resources to those experiencing substance abuse and homelessness.
All volunteers are trained in customer service, safety, and trauma-informed care and will help to provide a safer environment for passengers, as well as another set of trained eyes to monitor the system. In close collaboration with APD, Ambassadors provide low-level intervention as an additional layer to security.
