ABQ RIDE Studying Route System for Convenience, Efficiency and Equity
June 21, 2021
ABQ RIDE has released a request for proposal (RFP) for consultants to oversee a study of its fixed route system. The study will analyze existing fixed-routes and origin-destination data and recommend updates. The effort will consider social equity issues to inform suggestions for changes to the system that could improve access to public transportation. Local stakeholders and key communities will be engaged in the study to support the system analysis with rider insight and experience.
Ultimately, the study and the suggestions that it produces will aim to bolster ridership throughout the system, help improve the transit experience for every rider, and deliver services that meet customer demand.
“There are a lot of things our system is doing right in terms convenience, efficiency and equity, but there are always opportunities to do better,” said Danny Holcomb, Transit Director. “This study is going to illuminate how we can continue to improve as our city grows and changes, and help us better serve existing and future riders.”
The RFP titled “ABQ RIDE System Evaluation and Redesign” is currently open on the City’s procurement site where more details on the requirements and timeline are available.
