Is it Art or Junk?
Keep Albuquerque Beautiful, a program of the City’s Solid Waste Management Department, is launching a community art contest for its official Junk Jog t-shirt this year. This event combines jogging and picking up litter, or “plogging,” to help clean up the Bosque. This art contest is open to all ages.
“Keeping our City and Bosque clean is a One Albuquerque effort,” said Billy Gallegos, interim director of SWMD. “As this event continues to grow every year, we are excited to offer this opportunity to the public. We can’t wait to see what they come up with to celebrate our volunteers and the spirit behind this event.”
Those wanting to participate should submit their designs on the Solid Waste Website. Please note that designs need to be one color and feature the words “Keep Albuquerque Beautiful” along with “Junk Jog.” All registered participants and volunteers at the event on October 28 will receive a shirt featuring the winning design. The winner will also receive their own shirt.
