Celebrate the Season at the Ageless Artisan Craft Fair
ALBUQUERQUE— Still looking for that perfect holiday gift? The City’s Department of Senior Affairs invites the community to kick off the holiday shopping season at its annual Ageless Artisan Craft Fair, hosted at Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center on Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This unique event offers an opportunity to shop local and find one-of-a-kind holiday gifts created by over 50 talented artisans. Shoppers can expect to find an array of handmade items, including tin art, woodwork, ceramics, jewelry, textiles and more—all crafted by members of the City of Albuquerque’s senior and multigenerational centers.
“It’s that time of year when all our families start to think about holiday shopping, but this fair is really much more than that,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “It’s about supporting our local senior artists, celebrating their creativity, and discovering handmade gifts with a story behind them.”
Many of the items for sale were created in classes at the City’s senior and multigenerational centers, where the artists honed their skills and developed their crafts.
“Our talented artisans have invested time, effort, and heart into these works,” said Director of Senior Affairs Anna Sanchez. “This event is a chance for the community to support local craftsmanship while finding gifts with true meaning.”
Admission to the event is free. For more information, visit cabq.gov/seniors/events.
