Become a Tech-Savvy Senior!
The Department of Senior Affairs, along with local non-profits Adelante-DiverseIT and Teeniors, will host their annual 50+ Senior Tech Connect fair on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center.
In today’s world, many routine tasks such as making a medical appointment or ordering groceries often require some technology skills. It’s a reality that can sometimes cause older adults who lack digital resources or training to feel left behind.
The 50+ Senior Tech Connect fair aims to help bridge this digital divide by bringing together over 30 tech-focused organizations and community partners to teach seniors how to use technology safely and effectively.
"We created this tech fair to help increase access to digital resources and improve overall quality of life among older adults by making sure they feel comfortable using the latest technology," said Director of Senior Affairs Anna Sanchez. "We appreciate the many community partners who are taking part to support Albuquerque seniors."
The event will feature resources and demonstrations covering topics such as smart phone basics, cybersecurity, online shopping, and more. Admission is free and anyone age 50 or older is encouraged to attend. Event sponsors include Comcast and PNM.
