ABQ Seniors Treated to Thanksgiving Luncheon
Today, members of Albuquerque’s older adult community were welcomed by Mayor Tim Keller and the Department of Senior Affairs to the department’s Annual Thanksgiving Day Luncheon at the North Valley Senior Center. The event featured a traditional Thanksgiving meal and served as an opportunity for community members to share food and friendship.
“We’re always grateful for the opportunity to show our appreciation for Albuquerque’s older adult community,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “Today’s Thanksgiving celebration reminds us how important it is to stay connected and express gratitude for one another; during the holiday season, but also year round.”
In addition to the meal, attendees enjoyed live music and the opportunity to socialize with fellow community members. Nearly 150 guests attended the event, which has become a cherished tradition for the Department of Senior Affairs.
“Our annual Thanksgiving Luncheon is one of my favorite events that we host because of the wonderful way it brings our community together,” said Anna Sanchez, Director of Senior Affairs. “Sharing food, laughter, and stories reminds us all what the holiday season is truly about.”
