Metro 15 Offender arrested in Las Cruces
A man known for fleeing police and an offender on the Albuquerque Police Department’s Metro 15 list has been arrested.
Manuel Chavira, 25, was arrested Thursday by the Las Cruces Police Department at the Mesilla Valley Mall.
Chavira was wanted on both state and federal charges. He has a lengthy criminal record including past charges for receiving or transferring a stolen vehicle, tampering with evidence, false imprisonment and multiple charges for aggravated fleeing a law enforcement officer.
Chavira is the 45th Metro 15 offender to be arrested. He is being held at the Dona Ana County Detention Center on a no bond hold.
The Metro 15 Operation is a targeted component of Mayor Keller’s Violence Intervention Program – a proactive effort to attack violent crime from all sides. The Metro 15 is a working list of the top 15 violent crime offenders in Albuquerque.
