Homicide Offender Arrested in Louisiana

ALBUQUERQUE- Michael Kelly, 29, who was wanted for a 2021 homicide has been arrested in Louisiana.
The U.S. Marshals Service with the Louisiana Fugitive Task Force arrested Kelly early this morning in Covington Louisiana at his place of business.
Kelly was wanted for a homicide that occurred on November 18, 2021. Officers were called to the Copper Ridge Apartments located at 557 Tramway Blvd. N.E. When they arrived, they located a female later identified as Brandi Rael deceased inside a vehicle.
Following APD’S release of a wanted flyer for Kelly and two other offenders, a tip came in to Crime Stoppers that assisted with his arrest. As a reminder Crime Stoppers is a way the public can assist law enforcement by leaving anonymous tips. APD continues to search for Maria Acosta and Anthony McCrady, who are both wanted for homicides. Kelly has been booked into the Saint Tammany Parish Jail and will be extradited back to New Mexico.
