Grandmother Arrested in Connection with Death of 2-Year-old Girl

ALBUQUERQUE – APD detectives arrested Diana Marie Garcia in connection with the death of her 2-year-old granddaughter on Oct. 1, 2021. The girl’s father, Michael David Garcia was arrested the day of the child’s death.

Diane Marie Garcia is charged with Child Abuse Resulting in Great Bodily Harm/Death.

The 2-year-old girl, Diana McGrory, and her siblings had been staying with their father and grandmother. Following the arrest of Michael Garcia, detectives continued to investigate the case, and determined the totality of the circumstances warranted charges against the grandmother, Diana Garcia.

Garcia was booked today into the Metro Detention Center.
