Fight Leads to Stabbing, Suspect Arrested

Muhammad Ameer, 23, was charged with an open count of Murder and Robbery for the stabbing death of Aaron Sieben at 900Eubank Blvd.

On 03/19/2017 at about 7:35 p.m., Albuquerque Police Department Foothills Area Command officers were dispatched to 900 Eubank Blvd in reference to a fight.  Officers were provided information that a male victim later identified as Aaron Sieben, 30, was laying in the street and another male was seen leaving the area.  Officers arrived and located Sieben with what appeared to be stab wounds. Witnesses told officers the two were involved in a physical altercation when Ameer used a large knife to stab Sieben several times.  Ameer then took the victims wallet before running from the scene.

Officers immediately saturated the area and located a male who matched the description witnesses provided to them.  This male was identified as Muhammad Ameer. 

Ameer has been booked into MDC and is currently being held on an Open Count of Murder with a Deadly Weapon and Robbery.  Ameer is from Flint, Michigan and detectives have not determined if Ameer moved here or was passing through. 

This case is still actively being worked by the Violent Crimes Unit to determine the motive and further details. 

The Foothills Field Officers did an outstanding job quickly locating Ameer and apprehending him without incident.
