Familiar Drug Dealer Arrested

Anthony Stevenson was arrested again for trafficking illegal drugs in the Southeast Area Command.

Anthony Stevenson, 50, was arrested Thursday for felony drug charges.

The Albuquerque Police Department Narcotics Unit received information that illegal narcotic sales were occurring in the Southeast Area Command.  Detectives began their investigation into reports of illegal drug sales occurring at 529 San Pablo St.  During their investigation they learned their suspect was a familiar face to detectives.  The suspected dealer was identified as Anthony Stevenson.  Stevenson was just arrested back in February 2017 by narcotic detectives and charged with Trafficking a Controlled Substance out of his residence at the time near Central and Utah.  https://www.cabq.gov/police/news/known-drug-dealer-arrested-again

On June 15th, the Narcotics Detectives served a search warrant with the assistance of Southeast graveyard field officers. Stevenson was located and arrested on outstanding felony warrants and felony drug trafficking charges.  Methamphetamines, Marijuana, and Prescription Opioids were located and seized from the residence.  Stevenson has an extensive criminal history for narcotics and property crime dating back to 1998. Stevenson has been arrested three times since November by the Narcotics Unit for drug trafficking or drug related charges.  Safe City Strike Force responded to assist officers and observed the residence was in violation of several codes and deemed it unsafe to occupy.

The combined efforts of the both the Narcotics Unit and Southeast Area Command Field Services Bureau made the arrest of Stevenson again possible.  We want to thank the Safe City Strike Force for their assistance as well.  The Albuquerque Police Narcotics Unit is continuing to make these arrests in an effort to get drugs off the streets and reduce illegal activity in areas across Albuquerque.
