Auto Theft Suspect Runs to Hide, Caught By Police
Anthony Quezada, 37, was arrested after crashing a stolen truck and hiding from police in the Valley Area Command.
On 06/10/2017 at about midnight, a Valley Area Command officer was conducting patrol in the area of 2nd St and Paseo Del Norte due to past complaints of vehicles driving reckless in the area. The officer arrived to the area locating a white 1989 Chevy pickup which showed to be a reported stolen vehicle by the displayed license plate and saw it was occupied by a male driver. As the officer called for additional units he observed the truck driving reckless in the area and crash into a nearby ditch.
The driver later identified as Anthony Quezada was observed getting out of the vehicle and running from the vehicle. Quezada ran towards a large group of people and vehicles who were leaving the area. During the shuffle of vehicles and people in this area the male was able to blend into the crowd. Officers quickly set up a perimeter and located Quezada laying face down on a ditch bank in what appeared to be an attempt to hide from police.
Anthony Quezada was arrested and charged with Receiving/Transferring a Stolen Motor Vehicle.
