APD takes down cockfighting operation
ALBUQUERQUE – Officers in APD’s Southeast Area Command took down an illegal cockfighting operation today at a residence located at 530 Utah SE.
Upon arrival, officers located approximately 20 people on scene who fled in various directions.
The main organizer of the fights, Adolfo Gonzales (01/19/1992), will be summonsed for cockfighting. Eleven individuals received citations for cockfighting and six fighting roosters were recovered. One rooster was severely injured and one was deceased. Officers also found two breeding hens and eggs, and a pit bull.
Animal control seized the animals and will be assisting with the case.
