APD Partners with the DEA on Drug Operation

ALBUQUERQUE – The Albuquerque Police Department recently partnered with the Drug Enforcement Agency conducting an operation in the Southeast Area Command that resulted in several arrests.
The operation was conducted on March 8, 2023 in the area of Central Avenue and Pennsylvania as well as along Central and Indiana.

The following is a list of the individuals arrested and a summary of their offenses.
Adrian Mitchell 7817 Central Ave NE (Adams Market)
Adrian was arrested for trafficking a controlled substance (Fentanyl), Conspiracy to Commit a 3rd Felony, Possession of Meth and Drug Paraphernalia.
Terry King 7817 Central Ave NE (Adams Market)
Terry King was arrested for Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Carry of a Deadly Weapon (Firearm), Trafficking a Controlled Substance (Fentanyl), Conspiracy to Commit a 3rd Felony.
Detectives made contact with a male subject, later identified as Adrian Mitchell. Detective Garcia asked Adrian Mitchell for “the Blues”, which is a common street term for Fentanyl pills. Detectives provided Adrian $20 dollars in order to complete the transaction. Adrian then walked directly to a female subject, later identified as Terry King, and was observed doing a hand-to-hand transaction. Adrian then walked directly back to Detective Garcia and provided him five round blue pills. These pills were imprinted with an “M” on one side and a “30” on the other.
The pills were identified as possibly fentanyl. During a search incident to arrest, the money provided to Adrian was located in a light purple bag Terry was wearing. More identical pills were located totaling 331 pills.
A handgun was also located in Terry’s backpack, which was concealed. Terry is a convicted felon from a 2019 case out of Texas.
Shane Magee 7817 Central Ave NE (Adams Market)
During the operation, it was found that Terry made contact and spoke about narcotics sales to Shane Magee, who was also in the parking lot. During the takedown of Adrian and Terry, Shane was also approached. As he was approached, Shane advised officers that he had a firearm on him. The firearm was not seen and must have been concealed in Shane’s clothing. Shane was taken into custody, and the firearm, a 38 Revolver, was recovered from the right hip area of his waistband. There were also five, 38 caliber rounds recovered from the firearm.
Alfredo Rodriquez 7817 Central Ave NE (Adams Market)
Alfredo Rodriquez was arrested for a confirmed felony warrant (Probation Violation) and Concealing Identity. A search warrant is pending due to seeing a black/tan rifle against the front passenger seat in a vehicle he was in.
During the arrest of Adrian and Terry, a white 2016 Nissan was nearby. There was a black rifle and narcotic paraphernalia seen in plain view. The owner of the vehicle told Officers that he had just given a ride to a male, later identified as Alfredo Rodriguez, and the male was inside the business. Officers found Alfredo inside and he was detained.
Alfredo was asked for his ID but when this information was verified, the photo that came back to Alfredo was not him. Alfredo was identified and was found to have an active status on Probation and Parole. Due to his connection with the operation, the possible firearm, and Alfredo committing the crime of Concealing Identity, an arrest was issued by Probation and Parole.
Rodolfo Mosquera 7891 Chico Road NE
Rodolfo Mosquera was arrested for trafficking a controlled substance (meth). Officers gave Rodolfo $40 and Rodolfo gave them a small clear baggie with a clear crystal-like substance.
Joshua Garcia 6900 Central Ave SE
Joshua Garcia was arrested for two confirmed felony warrants (Criminal Damage Over $1000, Auto Burglary).
Vincent Martinez 6900 Central Ave SE
Vincent was arrested for trafficking a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance (Fentanyl). Detectives made contact with Martinez and advised that he was wanting to purchase "blues" which is known to be fentanyl pills. Detective Guzman advised that he has approximately $20.00 and Vincent advised that he could sell him five "blues." Martinez then removed five pills from his pocket and gave it to the detective in a plastic container.
Daniel Rodriguez 6900 Central Ave SE
Daniel Rodriguez was arrested for trafficking a controlled substance (Fentanyl). Detectives made contact with Rodriguez and advised that he was willing to purchase "blues' from him, utilizing $20. Rodriguez advised that he could give Detective Kelly two and half "blues" for the price of $20. Detectives received two "blues" and gave Daniel the $20.
