APD Open Space Collateral Officers locate 10 encampments in Bosque over weekend

ALBUQUERQUE – APD’s Open Space Collateral officers encountered 10 encampments during proactive patrol in the Rio Grande Bosque over the weekend. Officers arrested one individual with a felony warrant.
Open Space officers patrolled n foot, by boat, and by horse along the Rio Grande on Saturday and Sunday. They will provide GPS coordinates of the encampments to other city departments for follow-up contact and removal of the encampments.
During the patrols, officer located Carlos Diaz, who had an outstanding felony warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and a history of battery on a peace officer. He was arrested and booked into jail.
