APD Investigating Serious-Injury Crash on West Side Update

A gray 2003 Toyota passenger vehicle was traveling northbound on Coors Blvd NW and was making a left turn to travel westbound on Paseo Del Norte on a left green turn arrow. A blue green 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling southbound on Coors Blvd NW in the right lane and was approaching the intersection of Paseo Del Norte. The motorcyclist failed to stop at the red traffic signal and struck the Toyota vehicle on the right side. The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and sustained serious injuries. The motorcyclist was transported to UNMH and is in critical condition with multiple injuries. The passenger in the Toyota vehicle sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. It is unknown at this time if speed and alcohol were factor on the part of the motorcyclist. The investigation is ongoing.
