APD investigating overnight shooting death

ALBUQUERQUE – APD is investigating a deadly shooting that occurred late Thursday in the parking lot of a Southeast Heights convenience store.

An officer in the Southeast Area Command were responding to a call Thursday at 11:32 p.m. when he were flagged down about a shooting at the Allsup’s, located at 6900 Zuni Rd., S.E. The officer located two individuals with gunshot wounds.

The officer attempted to render aid to one person with a gunshot wound to the chest. That person was transported to the hospital where he died as a result of his wounds. The second person who was shot suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting.
