APD investigating overnight homicide

ALBUQUERQUE -- APD officers were dispatched Thursday shortly after 10 p.m. to the area of Buena Ventura Rd. and Garcia St., N.E. to respond to a ShotSpotter activation. Officers arrived on scene to find one male laying in the street. Rescue efforts were made, however,  the male succumbed to his injuries on scene.

Witnesses on scene notified officers a red sedan was involved in the shooting and fled the area north on Garcia St. N.E. APD asks anyone who has information into this incident to contact 242-COPS and a detective will follow-up with them.
