APD investigating overnight fatal crash

ALBUQUERQUE – APD’s Motors Unit responded overnight to a fatal crash at 3636 Menaul Blvd., N.E.

Investigators determined that a gold 2013 Hyundai was traveling eastbound on Menaul Blvd from Carlisle Blvd when it impacted into a pedestrian that was crossing the roadway. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene by paramedics and the driver of the Hyundai remained at the scene.

The investigation is currently ongoing. At this time it is does not appear that speed or alcohol were factors for the crash. It appears that pedestrian error were factors in the crash. Currently, no charges are pending for the driver. There were no witnesses and video footage is limited in the area.
