APD investigates fatal motorcycle crash

ALBUQUERQUE – APD’s Motors Unit investigated a fatal motorcycle crash today that resulted in the death of an adult male who lost control of his motorcycle while driving at a high rate of speed.

Officers determined the motorcycle driver was traveling northbound on San Mateo Blvd., N.E. at a high rate of speed when he lost control and crashed into the eastbound sidewalk. The motorcyclist was ejected off the motorcycle and into a lane of northbound San Mateo. The motorcyclist received significant injuries. Albuquerque Fire Rescue arrived on scene and declared the motorcyclist deceased.

This is an on-going investigation, but, it appears no other vehicles were involved in this crash. No charges are likely.
