APD detectives arrest school coach for child sexual solicitation
ALBUQUERQUE – APD Child Exploitation Detectives arrested Treyjan Felipe, 24, today after investigating an anonymous tip advising of sexual misconduct with a student athlete at Sandia Preparatory School.
APD was alerted by the “Say Something Anonymous Reporting System (SS-ARS),” a downloadable application, telephone hotline and website that students can use to report classmates who may be at risk of harming themselves or others. The tip advised there was a student athlete being sexually addressed through Snapchat and sent genitalia pictures by one the school’s athletic coaches, later identified as Felipe. The tip also advised the Sandia Prep middle school track and basketball coach, “Trey Felipe,” had added the anonymous tipster on Snapchat and had sent sexual videos, photos and messages. The tipster advised Felipe knew they were a minor, because they had previously been coached by Felipe. Uploaded with the tip was evidence of pictures, videos and messages that Felipe had been sending to the student athlete. Detectives were able to confirm the anonymous tip came from the victim.
Felipe is being charged with the following:
- Criminal Sexual Communication with a Child
- Criminal Solicitation by Electronic Communication Device
- Bribery or Intimidation of a Witness
Felipe was taken into custody and booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center.
