APD Completes First Month of Ongoing Operations in the Southeast
ALBUQUERQUE – Since the beginning of November, the Albuquerque Police Department has been conducting ongoing operations in the Southeast Area Command to tackle issues with crime while also assisting unhoused individuals.
The main purpose of the operations is crime reduction from San Mateo Boulevard through San Pedro and up to Louisiana Boulevard.
During the first four weeks of the operations, officers have been conducting field briefings in hot spot locations while also assisting in clearing a few encampments. They have also helped individuals out in the cold, needing resources.
During week one, the Southeast Proactive Response Team was requested by Code Enforcement to assist with clearing the former CVS at Central and Louisiana, and helping secure the property.
In all, six units are working alongside the Southeast PRT and Southeast Field Officers to include the following:
- Felony Apprehension Support Team (FAST)
- Investigative Services Unit (ISU)
- Horse Mounted Unit
- Motors and DWI Units
- High Risk Victims Unit
- Tactical
The High Risk Victims Unit (HRVU) arrested the following individuals during a Johns operation on charges of Patronizing Prostitutes.
