APD clears 70 felony warrants, arrests 54 during Warrant Roundup Operation

The Albuquerque Police Department completed a successful warrant roundup operation resulting in 70 felony warrant arrests, recovery of a stolen vehicle and officers located a missing juvenile.

ALBUQUERQUE – The Albuquerque Police Department completed a successful warrant roundup operation resulting in 70 felony warrant arrests, recovery of a stolen vehicle and officers located a missing juvenile.

During the week of July 15-19, officers from the Field Services Bureau targeted the Central corridor from Tramway in the Foothills Area Command, to 98th Street in the Southwest Area Command. Officers were specifically looking for individuals with active felony warrants.

The five-day operation resulted in the following:

  • Felony Warrants Cleared: 70
  • Felony Arrests: 54
  • Misdemeanor Warrants Cleared: 35
  • Misdemeanor Arrests: 29
  • Citations: 20
  • Summons: 7
  • Traffic Citations 13
  • Stolen vehicles recovered: 1
  • 1 Missing Juvenile located

During the operation, Southwest PRT officers arrested Henderson Burke, 54 who has been wanted by the United States Marshall’s and has evaded arrest for the last six years.

On July 17, a Southwest PRT officer observed Burke trespassing a property located at 5820 Central Avenue S.E. The officer made contact with the male and learned Burke’s history of being on the run and that he was wanted on multiple felony warrants.

Burke was arrested on a federal warrant for Violation of Federal Probation, Failure to Comply as a Registered Sex Offender in the State of NM (original charge, Aggravated Sexual Contact of a Minor).
