APD charges two men in 2018 murder
ALBUQUERQUE – The Albuquerque Police Department has charged Kevin Geier and Toure Britt for the 2018 homicide of Adrian Johnson.
On March 16, 2018, officers with the Albuquerque Police Department were called to a homicide at 2600 Americare Court NW. Witnesses reported hearing two gunshots and observed a Ford Excursion with Chihuahua license plates flee the area. A male, later identified as Adrian Johnson, 42 was located with a gunshot wound and pronounced deceased.
Two days later, on March 18, 2018, Rio Rancho police were called to a vehicle fire on the far west end of Southern near the sand dunes that was believed to be related to the homicide.
Through the investigation, investigators believe Adrian Johnson went to the location on Americare in a stolen Excursion to locate a male who was also dating Johnson’s girlfriend. Britt and Geier went with Johnson to back him up regarding the issue with the male involved with his girlfriend, however the two men actually planned to rob and kill Johnson.
On September 27, University Proactive Response Officers arrested Toure Britt. Kevin Geire is in custody in Arizona.
Both men have been charged with First Degree Murder.
