APD Assisted State Police with Citywide Racing Enforcement Operation

ALBUQUERQUE – APD’s Motor Unit and DWI Unit assisted the New Mexico State Police in a Citywide Racing Enforcement Operation.

During the operation, APD Air Support and undercover officers searched for large groups of vehicles gathering to participate in illegal street racing. Traffic was very light throughout the City however; a significant police presence possibly deterred large groups from gathering. APD had the following results:

Total traffic citations issued - 106

Speeding citations - 25

Modified exhaust citations - 7

Traffic stops - 41

DWI arrests - 5

Towed vehicles - 6
