APD detectives arrested two suspects who are accused of beating a woman, stabbing her multiple times and running over her body with a vehicle.

Detectives arrested Joshua Dominguez, 23, and Destiny Marquez, 21, for murdering a woman early on Friday, March 15, in the area of 1921 Broadway Blvd., N.E.

Marquez told detectives that she and Dominguez, her fiancé, were watching a movie inside their apartment at 310 Indian School Rd., N.E., which is near I-40. They heard a car alarm go off, looked outside the window and saw a female who appeared to be removing property from Dominguez’s vehicle.

Marquez said she and Dominguez confronted the woman who yelled, “I didn’t take anything! Leave me alone!” Marquez and Dominguez chased the woman.

Marquez initially claimed the woman attacked Dominguez and stabbed him. However, detectives had obtained video surveillance showing a light-colored Honda CRV drive up next to the woman and one person running behind the woman and quickly pushing her down before punching her. Someone quickly exited the vehicle and began fighting the female. It appeared the subjects were punching and stabbing her. One suspect kicked the female in the upper area of her body multiple times. At some point the female was run over by the CRV at least twice, and also stabbed multiple times.

After the quick altercation the subjects entered the vehicle and fled the scene east on Indian School. Detectives located the vehicle parked on the east side of an apartment complex located at 310 Indian School Rd. NE. There appeared to be fresh blood on the driver's side bumper.

Detectives watched two individuals, later identified as Marquez and Dominguez, moving items from the CRV into another vehicle. Detectives detained Marquez and Dominguez, and sealed and towed the two vehicles, pending search warrants.

Marquez and Dominguez are both charged with an open count of murder, conspiracy and tampering with evidence. They were booked into the Metro Detention Center.
