APD Arrests Suspect in Murder at NE Apartment
The Albuquerque Police Department arrested a suspect and charged him for the Feb. 10, 2021, murder of Aaron Johnson, 34, at a Northeast apartment complex.
Detectives arrested Dominic Sepulveda, 29, on Friday and charged him with an open count of murder, aggravated battery and tampering with evidence.
Through investigation, detectives learned that the victim, Johnson, had been staying at the apartment, located at 4601 Carlisle Blvd NE, with a female and using meth for several days. Witnesses said Johnson was involved in several confrontations at the apartment, which eventually resulted a shooting.
Sepulveda had arrived at the apartment with his cousin. He left and later returned in the early morning hours of Feb. 10. He admitted to shooting Johnson several times, killing him. The female who was renting the apartment said Johnson followed her to a bedroom and shot her in the arm. She was later treated and released from a local hospital.
Sepulveda was booked into the Metro Detention Center this morning.
