APD arrests man for double homicide

ALBUQUERQUE – APD homicide detectives arrested Marcos Vigil and charged him for last week’s double homicide at a Foothills convenience store.

Detectives identified Vigil, 48, as the man who shot two men on April 12, 2022, at the DK convenience store, located at 13601 Copper Ave., N.E. Kenneth Sweetwater, Jr. and Dominic Sanchez were gunned down following an argument with Vigil and another male subject in the parking lot at the store.

Detectives identified Vigil based on surveillance video and witness statements. He was arrested today and booked into the Metro Detention Center.

Vigil is charged with an open count of murder and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
