APD Arrests Man after SWAT Stand-off

The Albuquerque Police Department’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit pursued an offender Wednesday who threatened and fired a gun at family members and an ex-girlfriend throughout the day. He was arrested overnight after a stand-off with APD’s SWAT unit.
The offender, identified as Robert Crelier, 44, was described by family and others as a regular user of methamphetamine who becomes violent toward them. Detectives were told Crelier owns several firearms, including one he has named “Cop Killer.”
Detectives tracked Crelier down at his home, located at 3736 Valerie Road NE. Tactical officers were called to help with the arrest.
After his arrest, detectives with the Gun Violence Reduction Unit conducted a search warrant for the residence and seized the following:
- One full-length pump-action shotgun
- One sawed-off shotgun
- One semi-auto pistol
- One revolver pistol
- One Mack 10 style machine gun
- Large amounts of ammunition
Creiler was transported to the hospital and will be booked on his felony warrants when he is released.
