APD arrests man accused of rape, kidnapping and robbery
ALBUQUERQUE – APD detectives arrested Nathanael Hubert this evening and charged him for the rape, kidnapping and armed robbery of an employee at a massage business on Saturday.
Hubert, 20, entered Serenity Body Spa, located at 5001 Lomas Blvd., N.E., on Saturday morning and asked for a massage. Once inside the massage room, Hubert produced a handgun and asked the employee for sex.
The victim told detectives Hubert got violent with her and sexually assaulted her. He recorded the assault with his phone and strangled her during the assault. She said Hubert refused to let her leave the room when she attempted to walk out. He pointed the gun at her and threatened to kill her. He later emptied her purse, tied her up, and took her to an ATM machine to withdraw money using her debit card.
The victim later escaped and called police.
APD Sex Crimes detectives used surveillance video and automated license plate readers to track down the vehicle Hubert was driving. They identified Hubert during the course of the investigation and obtained a search warrant.
Detectives got an arrest warrant and took Hubert into custody tonight at an apartment complex in Northeast Albuquerque.
Hubert is charged with 2nd degree Criminal Sexual Penetration, Kidnapping, Robbery, Aggravated Battery, and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
