APD arrests bus stop drug supplier

ALBUQUERQUE – APD narcotics detectives arrested a man suspected of being a major supplier of Fentanyl and methamphetamine to people at bus stops along Central Avenue.
Detectives arrested Tyler Witt, 31, following an operation that targeted illicit drug use and trafficking at several Central Avenue bus stops. APD Chief Harold Medina initiated the operation based on complaints from bus riders and people who frequent areas near the bus stops who witnessed drug transactions, drug use, overdoses and medical emergencies.
Detectives identified Witt through several investigations as the primary supplier for drug users at the bus stops. They observed Witt several times driving his motorcycle recklessly up and down Central Ave., near each bus stop. After completing successful undercover drug transactions with Witt, detectives obtained a search warrant for his residence at 307 Madison N.E. Detectives worked with the Drug Enforcement Agency to execute the warrant, which resulted in the following seizures:
- 1 loaded Sig Sauer 9mm pistol
- 1 Loaded Beretta 9mm pistol (stolen)
- 5,000 Fentanyl Pills
- 50 GM Methamphetamine
- 8 GM Cocaine
- 2 Fentanyl patches
- 1 Vial of pure Fentanyl liquid
- $12,000.00 Cash
- 1 Felony Arrest
Witt was charged with three counts of drug trafficking, possession of firearm by felon, and possession of stolen firearm. He was booked into the Metro Detention Center on Friday, and released on Saturday pending trial.
