APD Arrests 8 Offenders in Downtown Narcotics Operation

APD detectives and officers made several significant arrests during an overnight operation targeting offenders trafficking narcotics in the Downtown Entertainment District.
APD’s Central Narcotics Unit, Meth Unit, Investigative Services Unit, Gun Violence Reduction Unit, and Valley Downtown Units collaborated to perform undercover narcotics operations that resulted in several felony arrests, drugs seized, and warrants cleared.
The proactive operation resulted in the following:
- 8 Felony arrests
- 4 Felony warrants cleared
- 4 suspects sold narcotics directly to undercover detectives
- 16.54 grams of meth seized (165 average user amounts)
- 2.3 grams of heroin seized (greater then 34 average user amounts)
- 1.13 grams marijuana
Offenders:
- Latino Martinez 7/17/1999:
- 1 felony warrant for burglary
- 1 felony warrant for possession of controlled substance
- Jenna Pearce 01/13/1982 and Renee Anaya 10/16/1978
- Arrested for conspiracy and trafficking controlled substances to an undercover Central Narcotics Unit detective: 5 grams blue meth, 5 grams clear meth, 2.3 grams heroin, digital scale seized (100 average user amounts meth/over 23 user amounts of heroin)
- Jack Samels 10/16/1956
- Arrested for trafficking controlled substances to a Meth Unit Detective: .2g meth seized (2 average user amounts of meth)
- Christopher Rowland
- Arrested for trafficking controlled substances to an undercover Central Narcotics Unit Detective: .3g meth seized (3 average user amounts of meth)
- Anthony Aguilar 01/23/1992
- Arrested for trafficking controlled substances: 4 grams meth, 1.13 grams marijuana seized (40 average user doses)
- Shayann Poncho 09/09/1996
- Arrested for possession of a controlled substance and 1 felony warrant for probation violation: 1.81 grams meth, digital scale, baggies seized / 18 average user doses

- Arrested for 1 felony warrant for possession of controlled substance: .23g Meth seized
