APD Announces 300+ Arrests During Retail Crime Holiday Operation

The Albuquerque Police Department (APD) announced the completion of their holiday tac plan, Operation Sticky Fingers, which resulted in 322 arrests. The operation began on October 14, 2023 and ended December 31, 2023. “Operation Sticky Fingers” focused on retail crime in popular retail districts throughout the city during the busiest season for holiday shopping. The following also resulted from the operation:

• 15 cases charged under the new Retail Organized Crime Law
• $60K recovered in stolen merchandise
• 110 cleared warrants

With the success of the operation, APD will evaluate the need for similar operations throughout the year. APD continues to focus on warrant operations and the Central corridor clean up.
