911 Call System Upgrades – There’s an App for that!
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Albuquerque Police Department’s Emergency Communication Center will be accomplishing a telephone system upgrade with Century Link during which 505-242-COPS service will be unavailable, but don’t worry – there’s an app for that.
911 Emergency services will be routed through the Bernalillo County Communications Center and not affected.
Beginning at 2 a.m. (Wednesday, June 14th) we will be experiencing an upgrade with Century Link. The upgrade is expected to be completed around 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
The non-emergency line 505-242-COPS (2677) will be unavailable during the upgrade.
If you have an urgent or emergency request for an officer and cannot wait until the 505-242-COPS lines are operational, please dial 911.
If it is not an emergency, you can utilize the department’s new smartphone application by using the “In Progress Report” or “Report Chat” functions. Residents can download the free app at the iOS App Store and Google Play Marketplace.
If you do not have a smartphone and it is not an urgent or emergency request, residents are asked to please try the 505-242-COPS number after the upgrade.
This upgrade will help to better the service we receive from Century Link.
