On March 28, 2024, officers in the Valley Area Command responded to a ShotSpotter near 5th Street and Bellamah Ave NW followed by a call for service indicating a gunshot had been heard in the area. Upon arrival, officers located one subject who later died of an apparent gunshot wound after being transported to UNMH for treatment.
