On February 20, 2022, Southeast field officers were dispatched to a shooting with injuries located at 2715 Kathryn Ave. SE. Officers arrived on scene shortly after rescue, who contacted the victim identified as 36 year old Verlon Weahkee and transported him to UNM Hospital. Verlon later passed away on March 20, 2022.
