On 07/18/16 at approximately 1907 hours, Officers were dispatched to 633 Louisiana SE to a suspicious persons call. The caller advised dispatch that there was a male subject in the alley behind the listed address, bleeding from the face and head. Officers arrived on scene, observed a male subject on the ground between a wall and a pole and appeared deceased with an injury to his head. Rescue arrived and the male was announced deceased. A full Violent Crimes call out was initiated.

Daniel Lovato Jr. was 27 years old when his life was taken needlessly on July 18, 2016. Daniel had a heart of gold. No matter the situation he always had a big beautiful smile on his face that would light up the room and a hug to give. He was the best at making you laugh or smile when you felt like everything was falling apart. Daniel was always laughing or cracking jokes, he was our very own family comedian. His love for his family was unquestionable. He would have been very proud to see his son grow up to be a very strong young man who truly loves him. His son in turn yearns for his dad and carries him in his heart daily, and often works extra hard to make sure his dad would be proud of him. We all miss Daniel very much and pray we get the justice for him that he deserves.
