Spring is here and it’s a perfect time to think about the benefits of a “Spring Tune-Up” for your pet. Protect your treasured pet by making sure their vaccinations are current.

The City’s Animal Welfare Department encourages pet owners to properly vaccinate your pet. This begins with a series of puppy and kitten shots and then regular boosters throughout their adulthood.

With the weather warm, we are all wanting to be outside, and many people think this is the perfect time to take your cute puppy out for stroll and show off the new addition to the family. Unfortunately, this time of year can bring a very sad realization of how many puppies in our community are not vaccinated against very deadly but preventable diseases.

Vaccinating your pet has long been considered one of the easiest ways to help your pet live a long, healthy life. Diseases prevalent in wildlife, such as rabies and distemper, can infect unvaccinated pets. Vaccinations prevent many pet illnesses that can be passed between animals and help avoid costly treatments.
