Animal Welfare Department Offers Free Pet Preventative Services

Albuquerque residents only, free pet preventative services to low-income and moderate-income.

The Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department (AWD) offers low and moderate-income Albuquerque residents free preventative pet services.

The AWD “We Care” Community Pet Services Mobile Unit will visit several locations throughout the City of Albuquerque on a rotating basis to provide pets belonging to Albuquerque residents with free preventative services. This initiative will help pets to continue to live a healthy lifestyle. Dates and locations will be updated regularly on AWD’s website.

The “We Care” Community Pet Services Mobile Unit will be providing vaccinations and microchips. Spay and neuter vouchers will also be provided via our new lottery system. Albuquerque pet parents who wish to take advantage of these services should visit AWD’s website www.cabq.gov/pets for an appointment or to enter the lottery system. Pet parents may also call 311 for more information. You must have an appointment to receive services and they are based on availability. Appointments will be held in a “drive thru” fashion to maximize social distancing.
