Waived Pet Adoption for Veterans

In honoring those who serve our country, the City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department is waiving the adoption fee for veterans, service men and women who are active duty, reserves, military retirees and their families from Monday, October 28 through Sunday, November 10. Thank you for your service to all Americans
Veterans will need to show proof of military status and meet our adoption requirements.
Boofy’s Best for Pets is offering a FREE pet supplies voucher valued at $50 to $70 that can be redeemed at either of their two locations with every adoption.
All adoptions include spay or neuter, a pet tag, microchip, vaccinations and one free initial veterinarian visit. AWD is also offering one day of free basic dog training with every adoption.
Veterans will be able to talk with an adoption counselor to get assistance in finding the right pet who will fit their family. Spread the word. Adopting a pet is a win-win for everyone involved. A faithful companion is gained, a friendship is formed and a life is saved.

East Side Animal Shelter, 8920 Lomas Blvd. N.E., 10:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (Open seven days)
West Side Animal Shelter, 11800 Sunset Gardens S.W., 10:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (Open Tues – Sun)
Lucky Paws, 6600 Menaul N.E. 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Open seven days)
