Description
Colleen Shackley is a City of Albuquerque Open Space Trail Watch Volunteer, Trail Steward, and Nature Guide. Her experiences with the Volunteer Program have opened up opportunities to observe many plants, animals, and scenery up-close, which has helped translate her observations into her artwork. Colleen's watercolor and photographic artwork has been included in public exhibitions at the New Mexico Art League and Masterwork's of New Mexico.
Thanks to the vision of those who came before us, residents of the Albuquerque area are privileged to enjoy free access to the mountains, river, and Bosque. Whether on the trails throughout the foothills of the Sandia Mountains, along the banks of the Rio Grande, or in the Open Space Visitor Center Garden, Open Space Volunteers give their time to help care for and educate others about these areas because they are inspired by the natural world around them. Through the creative work of volunteer-artists, this exhibition will celebrate that inspiration.
