Description
This elementary-aged youth program at the Open Space Visitor Center includes hiking and outdoor exploration, hands-on science, literacy, and art activities. Program is offered once-every-other-month during the school year. Youth should be prepared to have fun exploring the outdoors!
Changing Colors: Students will join two Open Space Educators on an exploration of the cottonwood forest during the fall season. A color scavenger hunt, nature journaling, and insect investigations are only a few of the activities planned for their 1.2-mile stroll in the forest. Upon returning to the Open Space Visitor Center students will apply their findings to an art activity and create a raised salt painting before enjoying the rest of their day.
Tuition is $10 for the three-hour camp, registration is required at play.cabq.gov (Open Space → Public Programs → Youth Programs → Saturday Explorer Camp)
