Description
Meg Leonard grew up in NE Ohio, pursued education in medical arts and fine art, culminating in a BFA in Painting and Drawing. Her first camping trip West when she was 21, was with two nurse colleagues, and the grandeur of scale and expansive horizons made an indelible impression to live in the West and convey the emotional power of seeing the Rockies for the first time. For thirty years, she resided in Wisconsin, worked as a professional nurse, maintained regional gallery representation, conducted children’s art camps, taught art appreciation in public school, and commuted to New Mexico to paint.
Her art has earned the recognition from private and corporate collectors, the State of Wisconsin, has been honored to be the Poster Artist for Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, received a National Park Service Artist Residency, an Albuquerque UETF Grant, and an inclusion in the permanent Albuquerque Public Works Collection.
