50 Summer Lifeguard Positions Still Available
The countdown is on for the summer pool season and the Parks & Recreation Department (PRD) is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team as lifeguards.
Lifeguards have the opportunity to learn lifesaving skills, effective communication, and how to be a successful leader. PRD’s Aquatics Division also offers lifeguards the opportunity to work year-round in addition to flexible scheduling. The position is a great stepping stone toward preparing for future careers.
“Our associate director started with us as a lifeguard and worked her way up,” said PRD Director Dave Simon. “If you’re interested in learning more, then dive right in!”
PRD’s Aquatics Division is looking to fill 50 lifeguard positions at its various pools by June 1, 2024. Lifeguards must hold a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First-Aid/AED Certification, must be at least 15 years old (and if 15, have worker’s permit), and must pass an Aquatics Lifeguard Skills Test.
There are only eight American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Program classes in April and May. Fees for this class will be waived for those who want to work for the City. Learn more about the class schedule and registration info.
