Learn about the River for Monarchs Project efforts to restore breeding and migration habitat for the monarch butterfly along the Rio Grande. Activities will include a 1-mile round trip walk, planting milkweed, and seeding. Please bring water and sun protection, all tools will be provided on site. Event is free but registration is required for each session. Scan QR code to register.

Register for the 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. planting.

Register for the 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. planting.


Location:

Participants will park at the Tree Nusery Tract located on Rio Grande Blvd between Candelaria Rd and Arbor Rd. Look for the Open Space Event sign. Participants will be shuttled to the Bosque planting site just west of the Rio Grande Nature Center.
