Well, we have a perfect way for you to start off the new year right! Take the plunge with us on January 4, 2025 into the 40-degree (or possibly colder) waters of the Sierra Vista Pool. Have the option to jump in or take on the challenge of going down one of the slides! You can event challenge your friends, family, or co-workers to take the plunge with you by adding on an extra $20 to your donation. Here are all the different ways you can participate:
- $60 to take the plunge and nominate someone to join you
- $50 to take the slide plunge
- $40 to take the plunge
- $20 to get out of taking the plunge (someone nominated you)
- $40 to get out of the plunge and pass along your nomination to someone else
- $10 for a cold bucket plunge and be entered in a raffle to win a prize
The doors will open at 10:30 am for all daring participants. Please park in the main parking lot right off Montano Road. Enter through the main doors and check in with the front desk. We will accept day of registrations. The pool has been prepared, cleaned, and returned to swimmable standards comparable to the summer season; the only thing missing is the heat! The pool should be between 40-45 degrees, depending on the weather.
Refreshments, including hot coca and snacks, will be provided.
VIPs will kick off the event with the first plunge of the morning at 11:00 a.m. The best costume will be awarded at 10:50 a.m. and the largest group and largest family will be awarded at 11:20 a.m.
This is a fundraising event for the Shanta Strong Swim Fund, a swim lesson scholarship fund for children in need. Most of the proceeds will go directly into this fund while about 10% will be used to provide special enrichment items for the BioPark Zoo polar bear and penguins.
