Josh Anderson currently serves as the leader of government affairs for the City of Albuquerque, overseeing initiatives for municipal priorities at the federal, state, and local levels.
Before assuming his role at the City of Albuquerque, Josh held the position of Political Coordinator for AFSCME Council 18, a public employee union representing workers in New Mexico and Colorado. With nearly two decades of experience with AFSCME Council 18, Josh played an essential role in shaping yearly legislative and electoral objectives at both the state and local levels. His contributions included direct lobbying efforts, engaging and mobilizing union members, and building coalitions with labor and community partners.
Beyond his union activities, Josh has actively participated in community service and politics. He served as a board member for the Martin Luther King Jr. State Commission and pursued public office as a candidate for the New Mexico House of Representatives in Albuquerque's House District 20.
Josh's roots run deep in Albuquerque, where he was born and raised. He graduated from Manzano High School and continued his education at the College of the Southwest in Hobbs, playing baseball for two years. He later transferred to New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, earning his Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing.
