Dr. Blackmon-Mosely brings more than 20 years of experience providing leadership in the field of Early Childhood Education in private, public, non-profit and government sectors, to programs that serve children and families of diverse backgrounds in under-privileged and/or under-served communities to her role with the City of Albuquerque.
Dr. Blackmon-Mosely is most passionate about providing leadership to comprehensive high-quality early care and early learning programs designed to link young children and their families to the supports they need to reach self-sufficiency. Advocating for high quality individualized and specialized services for children with disabilities and/or other special needs, as well as, providing optimal learning environments to children with Adverse Childhood Experiences through the delivery of trauma informed practices and a trauma informed approach are focus areas that Dr. Blackmon-Mosely has found to be both inspiring and fulfilling.
Originally from Southern California, Dr. Blackmon-Mosely relocated to New Mexico in 2004 and has played an instrumental role in helping children and families throughout the Southwest for the past 17 years. Dr. Blackmon-Mosely holds a Bachelors Degree, four Masters Degrees and a PhD, and among those degrees she holds an MBA with a specialization in Management and Leadership and Doctorate in Psychology with a specialization in Early Childhood Education.
